Just Moving On

Funded by the Tasmanian Community Fund and partnered with the Tasmania Prison Service and Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Just Moving On is a ‘throughcare’ program to support men and women exiting prison.

Just Moving On is a collaborative through-care program to support people exiting prison to reconnect with family and build the literacy and life skills for education and employment. Connect42 is proud to work with other services to increase positive opportunities for participants, community safety and productivity.

Funded by the Tasmanian Community Fund and Connect 42, Just Moving On is innovative and groundbreaking. Delivered in partnership with the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to 15 participants, speech pathologists will support language, literacy and skills of connection through individually tailored programs.

Supporting Connect42 is Speech Pathology Tasmania and the Steering Committee including  Tasmania Prison Service, the TCCI, the Salvation Army’s Communities for Children and Doorways to Parenting programs, Anglicare’s Social Action Research Centre (SARC), JusTas.

We know well-delivered throughcare is proven to reduce re-offending. It is proven to support pro-social reintegration to the community. It delivers a safer, more productive and engaged society to all.

We will also use what we do and learn from Just Moving On to further add to important data and evidence. We will continue to strengthen community confidence in the pro-social benefits and outcomes of rehabilitation and relationship-based support.

Thank you to the Tasmanian Community Fund and our other like-minded, aligned, and valued partners.
